GOOD MORNING and Welcome to T2k Section 101!
Below are the questions to be answer by tomorrow on this post for those in Section 101.
Question #1
What or Who influenced you toward the direction of you major and WHY?
Question #2
What is your favorite color and WHY?
I was drawn to my major of Elementary Education because from a young age I enjoyed helping my teachers and was interested in teaching. Later on I realized I was great at connecting and working with younger children so I took a class at my high school that allowed us to work and teach in a preschool. After that course I decided that teaching was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.
ReplyDeleteTeaching is an underrated and underappreciated profession. Great teachers especially to young children who are forming are one of the future's most important assets. I know you will be an impactful teacher and I applause your goal!
DeleteMy favorite color would have to be purple because it's comforting to the eyes, it's dark but has a little bit of light, it's strong but not overwhelmingly strong, and it is a classy color when it comes to clothing. The color purple to me symbolizes power, ambition, wisdom, dignity, independence, creativity, mystery, and inspiration which also kind of symbolizes my personality. I am a powerful defender in soccer, I am really ambitious, wise, trustworthy, independent but better with a team, and mysterious.
ReplyDeletePurple combines the stability of blue and the energy of red. Purple is associated with royalty. It symbolizes power, nobility, luxury, and ambition. It conveys wealth and extravagance. Purple is associated with wisdom, dignity, independence, creativity, mystery, and magic.
DeleteEver since I took my first earth science class in high school, I knew I wanted to major in it. I found it interesting how things are constantly changing and how there's so much yet to be discovered, especially when it comes to earthquakes. I would like to base a career around this and study the San Andres Fault. As of now, an immense amount of pressure is building up, and when it finally releases, millions of people will suffer. I want to help predict when this earthquake will occur and help save those in the nearby area.
ReplyDeleteI am sure you found interest (and much sadness) in hearing about the huge earthquake in Italy today.
DeleteFor as long as I can remember I have always had an interest in Interior Design. I have known my entire life that Interior Design was what I wanted to go to school for and spend my life doing. Every time I would go into a new room or building, I would appreciate the artistry that someone did in creating the inside and outside of not only making it a functional space for everybody, but by making it pleasing to the eye as well. In high school I also took an Interior Design class and after that I was even more certain of what I wanted to do.
ReplyDeleteHaving a passion for something is what makes you succeed.
DeleteI know you will be doing great things moving ahead.
I am proud to have you as a student in our Interior Design department!
Holy Name Hospital has influenced me to choose Biology as my major. I have volunteered at the hospital since I was a sophomore and I loved every minute of it. I love the atmosphere of the hospital and I love the dedication and time put into a person to help them feel better. The field I'm interested in is Labor and Delivery as my aspiration in life is to become a Labor and Delivery nurse. I've met numerous nurses and OB-gyn doctors and they taught me everything they knew. They love the miracle of childbirth and are happy to transition women into motherhood. Last summer I entered a Simulation Learning Program in the hospital that helps students prepare for the medical field. The Program taught me everything from inserting a catheter, learning CPR, putting in IVs, and many more. But the most memorable moment in the program was when I saw a C-Section. It was a thrilling experience and I'm grateful that I get to see 3 C-Sections. So right then I knew that Biology is the major I wanted to study.

Not only my strong love for computers but also the passion to help other people get on their feet when I comes to technology as a whole is the reason I decided to major in Information Technology. No matter how long it took, I always made sure to get the job done under any circumstances. Whether it be from watching YouTube tutorials or reading books. Last but not least, feeling appreciated. My mother always told me it doesn't matter what I do, as long as I do it right. So to me, when people smile and say "thank you" I can tell I'm doing something right. I want to be able to help any and everyone to make sure they aren't left out due to the fast advancement in technology.

DeleteI never had any interest in pursuing computer programming as a living until I watched the film “The Social Network”. Which instantly drawn my attention only because I first handedly had an insight on how computer are affecting our world. If you’ve watched the film you’ll know my influence is Mark Zuckerberg, throughout the film he gave me a clear outline on how much positive computers are in our world and the direction its going. Since, my curiosity has rapidly increased and getting the opportunity to learn computer science would give me the opportunity to have an impact on the world, as well.

DeleteThere has been three people who have influenced me a lot. One of them is my cousin, Rahid. The other is my CADD teacher in highschool, Mr. Rodriguez. The final one is my friend, Mike. As I was growing up as a child, I was already looking up to my cousin Rahid as a role model. During middle school, Rahid was accepted into NJIT for architecture to get his master's degree. This is when I was introduced to this major. I was interested in what he was doing on his laptop on these weird programs that I didn't understand how to use or what their purpose was. By the time I was in highschool I somewhat understood what he was doing. Rahid recommended me to look into the Computer Aided Design and Drafting classes. This is where I met Mr. Rodriquez who took me under his wing and prepared me to get into college. This man was very resourceful to me because he always pushed me to persevere. He helped me set up a portfolio with that I can show to colleges I wanted to apply to and any engineering firms to apply for an internship. Also during highschool, this new student from Russia moved to my town and started to attend the same highschool I went to. I became really good friends with Mike and he taught me a lot of things. He opened my eyes to that no matter how young or old you are, if you love something, then go and do it. If you have a dream, then go chase it and don't give up. I listened to what he said it really helped me choose what I wanted to do with my life. With help from all three of those people, I decided to choose in majoring in architecture. Which I am very excited to start.
ReplyDeleteI am excited for you!
DeleteGOOD LUCK!
I believe that I am my own inspiration for taking interest in computer science. Computers have always been interesting to me and I have always been seeking more knowledge of them. This curiosity of mine has extended to networking as well as cyber security.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite color is gray and I like this color because it is the mixture of black and white. Black is the essence of all color while white is the absence of it. Both of these concepts are very dynamic and gray is intriguing because it combines these two polar qualities.
I love your analysis of black and white.
DeleteGood Luck moving forward!
My favorite color is black, white, and blue. To me black and white are opposites of each other but at the same time are some what similar to each other. Blue helps me to keep calm whenever I am stress out from a long of work.

DeleteWhich of the three colors; black, white or blue is your MOST favorite?
The major that I am interested in pursuing is physical education. I've always enjoyed playing a variety of different sports. Growing up I've spent a lot of time going to my father's job who is also a physical education teacher. So I would say that his career has helped influence me. I thought that it was cool seeing how the kids interact with each other and seeing how playing sports helps build the students confidence. All in all I think that the educational field is a rewarding field to work in.
ReplyDeleteEducation within all disciplines is a great direction!
Delete1) My inspiration to go into Computer Science comes from my two parents. As long as I can remember I was always surrounded by technology growing up. When I was 5 years old my mom would let me type on the computer and explore what made the computer function. At age 7 My father would open up an old laptop and would teach me on what was inside the computer and explain how each part coerce with each other. My parents deep knowledge of technology on the front and back end has inspired my curiosity for Computer Science.
ReplyDelete2) My favorite color is red because I love seeing it when the sun goes down. Seeing the sun go down and up as I watch the sky turn different shades of red makes me feel warm and happy. The color also represents power to me. Wearing red makes me feel strong, confident and fearless. There are different hues of red that can be associated with energy, danger, strength, power, and determination, as well as anger, passion desire and love. Red is an emotional color that expresses everyone in different ways. Right now for me its confident.
Red Color Psychology and Meaning
DeleteAssociated with energy, war, danger, strength, power, determination as well as passion, desire, and love.
Enhances human metabolism, increases respiration rate, and raises blood pressure.
It attracts attention more than any other color, at times signifying danger.
Growing up I was always interested in computers and the way they work. However, I never quite knew how or what made them work, what made programs do such simple but such amazing things. The more I learned about computers, the more intriguing they became to me. Movies like The Social Network, Pirates of the Silicoln Valley and many Steve Jobs biographical films showed me the brilliance of computing and how revolutionizing they were. I want to be apart of the next big thing, whatever that may be. Computer Science will help me leave an impact on this world just like Steve Jobs did and many more have and will have.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite color is green. Green is the essence of purity. Green means to go, to never stop. Just like in life we must always go and never stop. Green is wealth, green is protection, green is security. Green is the natural beauty of the world, green is nature. That is why green is my favorite color, because it represents what I believe, what I strive to achieve.
- Carl Garnier
I love green as well.

1)I am an undecided major right now, but I am most likely to major in business. I would like to be my own boss one day, and lead others down the path of success through my business whatever I choose. My desire to lead and guide others has come from my High School experience. I was involved in lots of extra circulars such as Student Government, Choir, Science Club, Theater, and a few more. Through all these activities I learned new things about myself. I learned that I was good at networking, time management, listening, learning from new experiences, and over all just being a natural leader.
ReplyDelete2)I do not have a favorite color. Most of the time my favorite color changes throughout the year, depending on the season or how I’m feeling. However, I do love rainbows all year round because they remind me of home. In my eyes rainbows represent my four best friends, we have been together for only four year but it seems like I have known them all my life. They are the most supporting, funny, and loving friends I could ever ask for and I will probably miss them a lot, but when I see the rainbows I will know they are with me.

Consider being involved in Kean University's many clubs and organizations. You will add so much to them and they will expand your horizons as well!
DeleteI Remember my dad told me back in his country he studied computer engineering and he was successful at it. After he migrated to the U.S he could not go further with his studies now that he has a family. With the skills he took with him he taught me few things about computers. Whenever there was a problem with any computer at the house I watch him as he fix it. While he solves the problem he tells me what was the issue and when it occurs again it was my job to handle it by myself. At first it was not easy but after several tries it became simple. From the time my father showed me many things about computers i wanted to know more about them. I chose to major in computer science not only to finish what my father had started but to have a profound learning experience about computers.
ReplyDeleteWhen i first knew the names of colors till about twelve years old i was obsessed with blue. The walls in my room, the color of my carpet and the sheets my bed were all blue. Most of my clothes i used to wear were many different shades of blue. Later on i lost interest in the color. Now burgundy is my favorite color and always will be because its beautiful. It is a color you will not see everywhere you go which is awesome and it goes with my skin tone.
Everything is more difficult at first, but with time and practice we become better and the tasks easier.
ReplyDeleteGood Luck with you learning experiences!
